Page Turners Kids Book Club

Page Turners Book Club for Youth in Denver

When: Tuesdays, 5pm-6pm

Leader: Burning Through Pages, 10Four Staff, 10Four Peer Leaders

At 10Four, we are committed to nurturing a love of reading among our youth. We firmly believe literacy and comprehension are essential building blocks for their future success. Our Page Turners youth book club is aimed at igniting a passion for reading and generating meaningful discussions among our young readers.

In partnership with Burning Through Pages (BTP), a reading-based nonprofit organization, we have established a weekly Page Turners Book Club tailored specifically for 10Four youth. Every week, BTP volunteers from Burning Through Pages visit our center to lead engaging discussions with our Peer Leaders and youth participants. Our conversations about our books provide an opportunity for exploration, discovery, and connection.

Our book club is structured to cater to the diverse age ranges and reading levels of our youth. We are able to provide separate groups for 7-9 year olds, 10-13 year olds, and 14-18 year olds with each session tailored to the ages of our youth.

The books we choose for our book club are selected by our youth. We read titles such as, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, “Captain Underpants” and “Dogman”. These books are engaging with funny storytelling and relatable topics.

One of the highlights of our book club is that all participants receive free copies of the selected books provided by Burning Through Pages. These books not only serve as a source of inspiration and enjoyment but also empower our youth to continue their reading journey beyond the walls of our center.

We are proud to offer leadership opportunities for our junior high and high school students through our book club peer leadership program. These youth serve as peer leaders, reading books, assisting with the facilitation of book club discussions, and gaining valuable experience in leadership, communication, and literacy advocacy.

All 10Four members are welcome to join our book club, and registration is simple and free. Whether you’re already part of the 10Four family or looking to join us for the first time, we invite you to complete our Intake Forms and join us on this exciting literary adventure. Let’s turn some pages and embark on a journey of discovery through the captivating world of books.

Book Donor – Better World Books

We’d like to acknowledge and appreciate Better World Books for donating hundreds of books for our youth to enjoy. Better World Books is an amazing organization that we also support with our purchases and would encourage everyone to check them out for affordable book options if you have the means.

Better World Books has donated over 35,000,000 books world wide and raised over $34,000,000 for Libraries and literacy. Their books are often used books from libraries and schools. The organization then sells at a deep discount and/or donates to organizations such as 10Four.  We also use these donated books in our book club.
