A longtime Executive in the nonprofit sector, Dr. Medina has been fighting for underserved communities for over 20 years.
Dr. Medina has focused her work on both healthcare and educational initiatives. These include substance abuse policies, breast cancer prevention & treatment, medication-assisted treatment for opioids, mental health & wellness, aging and Alzheimer’s, children’s literacy and high school non-profit educational programming. She has specialized experience with organizational assessment and creation of action plans for sustainability. Dr. Medina earned her Doctor of Education in 2015 and received a master's degree in education in 2009.
Dr. Medina has devoted years to civic leadership throughout her career and is very passionate about community wellness and changing the trajectory of a young person's life through positive role modeling and strong support systems. Her hobbies include exploring new places, trying new food and riding her mountain bike.
